This work is a confluence of diverse approaches, including data-driven sketches, creative visualisations, and sonorous expressions on the telegenic environmental issues.

Emerging from an intensive research and execution framework, it remains in a "beta phase" and is expected to evolve over time. This evolution will incorporate perspectives from various vantage points, ranging from indigenous knowledge to agricultural and industrial insights.

By examining data, projections, and historical references, the intention is not to assert definitive points but to provoke thoughtful reflections. Innovative methods are employed to explore phenomena surrounding the climate crisis, drought, and data literacy, illustrating how these issues relate to sensory experiences in both visual and auditory forms.

The concepts of climate change, deforestation, dependencies between urban and rural areas, agricultural methods, circular economy, Anthropocene, sustainability, green transformation, open data practices, and ecological measures are interpreted differently by various stakeholders, authors, institutions, research methodologies, and data sources. The work seeks to navigate these interpretations, fostering a deeper understanding and engagement with the pressing environmental challenges of our time.

According to many myths, we became truly human only when we acquired fire. So it is natural to assume a parallel awakening for the place we live. Rather, the Earth likely simmered through more than four billion years before its biotic broth boiled over. Some of fire's components the ancient Earth acquired only after long eons. Even more critically, those ingredients needed a durable context in which to mingle. The parts had to combine and do so consistently. Combustion has its creation story. Fire has its history.

Combustion requires a spark. It needs a jolt of energy to unpack photosynthesized matter, to set off a chain reaction that can release enough surplus energy through oxidation to continue.

In nearly all myths, when people get fire, they move beyond the rest of creation; they become distinctively human. Aeschylus had Prometheus proclaim that by bestowing fire on humanity he had invented all the arts of man. That's a claim as reckless as it is bold

Drought Vulnerability in the Prealps

The Po River Basin in Northern Italy faces increasing vulnerability to drought and wildfires, exacerbated by climate change. Prolonged droughts, particularly in winter, have heightened the risk of wildfires in the Prealpine regions. These fires, coupled with extensive canopy loss due to deforestation, threaten the area's biodiversity. Additionally, the region suffers from significant air pollution, with PM2.5 and PM10 levels frequently exceeding safe limits, further degrading air quality. This confluence of environmental challenges underscores the broader impacts of anthropogenic activities and climate change in Southern Europe.

Modernity has always relied on fire – on combustion– as a symbol of progress and control over the nature. Yet, this same element, so central to our technological advancements, is now a force that exacarbates climate crisis, turning our tools of progress into instuments of planetary diseases.
